Not the Elvis I was hoping for
I LOVE LOVE LOVE Candlelight: A Haunted Evening of Halloween Classics. The evening was beautiful, outside under the stars, and the orchestra was really wonderful. HIs voice is still awesome, but boy was i bored! I guess i just didn't know because he would be performing with the orchestra, that every song would be SUPER slow and mellow. I can't believe I'm going to write a 'less-than-stellar' review!
Ben Folds managed to keep it peppy and was funny and sounded good as well, but again, VERY slow. we left early because i was really so frustrated with this version of a concert of his. I grew up listening to all of his songs and know every word, pretty much. It could just be that having the orchestra with these guys made me feel like they, and I, were about 100 years old.
I was anticipating a fun, upbeat, classic performance, but i didn't get that. Bummer :(
